Pest Control update #1: The bugs are heading for Broadway! An enterprising and innovative theatrical producer (who shall, for now, remain anonymous) has optioned the rights to develop Pest Control into a stage musical! Bob Dillon, Mary, Katy, Klaus, and all the bugs can already smell the grease paint. Pest Control update #2: Everybody's favorite assassin bug comic thriller (published in Germany several years ago) is currently being produced as a radio series by Deutschland Radio. My understanding is that it will be done in serial fashion (like the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy was years ago). No details on when it premiers. No matter, just start brushing up on your German! Pest Control update #3:We're currently in negotiations with a publisher in Romania who wants the rights to Pest Control, The Organ Grinders, and Heart Seizure. And it's about damn time! Pest Control update #4:I'm just about finished with The Exterminators (the long awaited sequel to Pest Control). I got derailed while working on The Adventures of Slim and Howdy and producing Fitzhugh's All Hand Mixed Vinyl for XM Satellite Radio. I hope to have it completed soon and take it out to publishers. Stay tuned... The Adventures of Slim and Howdy The Adventures of Slim and Howdy will be published in May 2008. They tell me I'll have a big pile of advance copies in time for the Los Angeles Times Book Festival in late April, so come out and get you one. Based on characters created by Kix Brooks, The Adventures of Slim and Howdy is a comic crime novel set all over the Lone Star State and parts of Mexico. It was great fun working with country superstars Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn because they gave me great material to work with and everybody's tickled pink at the outcome. Ronnie kept urging me to make it more like Pulp Fiction. Kix just rolled his eyes and laughed. Kix and Ronnie will officially launch the book at the CMA Music Festival in early June so if you can't get out to LA, drop by and see the boys in Nashville! ©2007, Reduviidae, Inc. - All rights reserved |
